1. Scope and operator
Fly Design is the studio that develops the app; the publisher is the developer shown where you obtain it. This policy covers the Clearance app only. Server logs and optional analytics on the Fly Design website are described in the website privacy policy.
Privacy contact: flydesign.app@gmail.com.
2. What Clearance reads on your Mac
To find what can be cleaned up, Clearance reads the following on your Mac:
- File and folder metadata: paths, names, sizes, types and modification dates, used to measure space and tell whether something is a rebuildable cache.
- Project configuration files: for example the tool versions recorded in Gradle, Android and Flutter projects, used to tell whether an old SDK version is still referenced. Clearance reads version information only; it never reads or runs your source code or project scripts.
- Installed apps: names, identifiers and locations, used to find an app’s support files, caches and preferences when you uninstall it.
- Files in use: before cleanup, the system tool lsof checks whether the current user’s processes are using a candidate file, so files in use are not deleted.
- App settings: Standard or Pro mode, appearance and interface language, stored in the app’s local preferences.
Clearance does not read file contents to profile you, and it does not collect contacts, location, photos, browsing history or advertising identifiers.
3. Processed on your Mac, never uploaded
All scanning, measuring, evaluation and cleanup happen on your Mac. Clearance has no account system and sends no file lists, paths, sizes, scan results, cleanup history or device information to Fly Design or any third party. The app contains no advertising, analytics, crash-collection or other third-party SDKs.
Only when you click the website link in the app does macOS open the Fly Design website in your default browser; that visit is covered by the website privacy policy.
4. Full Disk Access
macOS protects some apps’ data folders. With Full Disk Access, Clearance can measure those folders, such as chat app data and device backups. This data is shown for your information and never selected for cleanup automatically.
The permission is optional. Without it, Clearance still scans and cleans up normally and simply leaves protected folders out. You can revoke it anytime in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Full Disk Access.
5. System and developer tools Clearance runs
Some actions use tools already on your Mac: lsof (to check files in use), xcrun simctl (to delete iOS simulators), the Android SDK’s sdkmanager and avdmanager (to remove NDKs, system images and emulators), and java_home (to find Java for the Android tools).
These tools are launched directly with fixed arguments, never through a shell, only after you confirm the matching cleanup, and their output is used on your Mac only.
6. How deletion works and your confirmation
Clearance deletes nothing until you confirm. Every cleanup shows the full list first. Caches are deleted directly by default, so they cannot be restored from the Trash; the related tools rebuild them when needed. In Pro mode and when uninstalling apps you can choose to move items to the Trash and restore them if needed. Clearance never empties the Trash for you.
Please review the list before confirming. We cannot remotely recover anything you chose to delete.
7. Storage and retention
Scan results and the cleanup history of the current session are kept in memory while the app runs and are gone when you quit. App settings stay on your Mac until you change them or delete the app. Fly Design holds none of your scan data, so we cannot view, export or delete it.
8. Services provided by Apple
If you choose in macOS to share analytics with app developers, Apple may provide aggregated crash reports and performance data to the developer. Apple handles this under its own privacy policy, and you control it in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
If Clearance is later distributed or sold through a store such as the Mac App Store, downloads, payments and refunds are handled by that store, and Fly Design does not receive your payment details.
9. Children and your rights
Clearance is a tool for developers and everyday computer users and does not collect information from children. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct and delete personal information and to lodge a complaint. Because Clearance collects and uploads no personal information, you control this data entirely on your Mac; for emails you send us, you can exercise these rights through the contact address.
10. Changes and contact
If the way Clearance handles data changes, we will update this policy and its effective date, and highlight significant changes on the website and in the app’s release notes. For questions, contact flydesign.app@gmail.com, and please leave unnecessary sensitive details out of your email.
